A federal judge has California legal minds scrambling. Their assault weapons ban has been ruled as a violation of the 2nd Amendment. The judge, who previously denied California's magazine ban, in his opinion pointed out that rifles have killed less than 50 people in the state. Knives? They have killed over 250. He also went on to say that the threat of them has been over dramatized. Remember what Wayne says, it makes the news because it is uncommon. And rifle deaths are uncommon in the US. 350 million Americans, 20 million AR-15's, less than 350 deaths from all kinds of rifles. So the shootings that splash the news are uncommon. You are much more likely to die swimming than be killed by a rifle.

Uncommon in that the ones that make the news are mass murders, compared to the everyday, run-of-the-mill murders.
How likely is a mass murderer to use a Swiss Army Knife? So far, ZERO.
“Like the Swiss Army Knife, the popular AR-15 rifle is a perfect combination of home defense weapon and homeland defense equipment,” Judge Benitez said in his ruling.
The Las Vegas shooter didn’t use knives to rain down fire from the 32nd floor of a hotel on an outdoor concert, killing 59 and injuring more than 500 people. Neither did the Sandy Hook Elementary School Gunman when he slaughtered 20 children and six adults.
The Judge here is an American success story. A Cuban born man who fled the Castro regime with his family. Maybe his growing up without freedom makes him treasure the Bill of Rights more than the American leftists who wear Che' Guevera t-shirts? (BTW, Che' killed many in his time in power in Cuba, including homosexuals.)

Wayne Harrison wrote: Maybe the judge and his fellow Cubanos should have tried using knives against Castro.
Great point Wayne. Castro used guns to overthrow the dictator Batista. Fidel was often pictured with a scoped hunting rifle. After his victory, he confiscated guns. Hard to fight a revolution against a corrupt leader like Castro without guns.
