Scientists Swayed by Politics and Wokeness

Chan said there had been trepidation among some scientists about publicly discussing the lab leak hypothesis for fear that their words could be misconstrued or used to support racist rhetoric about how the coronavirus emerged. Trump fueled accusations that the Wuhan Institute of Virology, a research lab in the city where the first Covid-19 cases were reported, was connected to the outbreak, and on numerous occasions he called the pathogen the "Wuhan virus" or "kung flu."

Finally, an admission that some of these scientists were unwilling to talk about or look deeper into the lab leak because of Trump. Is that how science should work, especially after realizing we were in the middle of a global pandemic? Would it not have been helpful to find out that the virus was artificially manipulated in order to find a cure faster? Seems like common sense to me but I'm not a scientist.

“At the time, it was scarier to be associated with Trump and to become a tool for racists, so people didn’t want to publicly call for an investigation into lab origins,” Chan claimed in the interview.

It appears that the fear of being attacked by the woke mob 'trumps' finding truth. Accurate history books will not look kindly on these people we rely on.

Scientists rushed to downplay the possibility that the pandemic could have originated in the lab by publishing a letter in The Lancet that cast it “as a xenophobic cousin to climate change denialism and anti-vaxxism,” Vanity Fair reported. “The Lancet statement effectively ended the debate over COVID-19’s origins before it began.” SMH

This is very troubling and Orwellian. Hide the facts to protect China.

It's always about money. Think about all these giant corporations that completely ignore the horrors committed by the Chinese government because they want to keep the cash flowing. The Biden's have been enriched quite a bit by China so it's no surprise that Joe will be better for China than Trump was. I'm not sure why Biden was so easily rolled by Putin and his pipeline, but that's probably something we will find out down the road.

Because bribes need to be payed for.

"Baturina, a billionaire, was previously married to Yuri Luzhkov, who served as mayor of Moscow but was fired for alleged corruption in 2010. The report details how Biden's business received a $3.5 million payment from Baturina in February 2014, which was described to be for "consultancy" work. In 2015, Biden also received several payments of several hundred thousand dollars from Baturina, several of which were listed as part of a "loan agreement"

Sceptics should note that Newsweek is no friend of Trump. Nowhere in the article do they actually deny the facts just that they had an illegal impact.

"The report does not allege that there was anything illegal about these transactions. However, the document demonstrates that Hunter Biden had a series of financial entanglements with foreign officials and business people associated with adversarial governments."

I just don't understand why the Biden supporters can't see how Hunter's dealings with our enemies isn't a problem, especially considering who his father is.

They are attempting to buy influence. Remember Jimmy Carter? Libya's Kadaffi hosted Jimmy's brother Billy in an attempt to gain influence with his administration. I don't think it worked in that case. Hunter? It is still to be determined. Joe thinks his son is very intelligent and could be asking him for advice in foreign affairs, we don't know yet. BTW, anyone read Hunter's latest leaked texts about buying sex companions? Gross.

Oh, you mean how foreign dignitaries booked expensive rooms at the Washington Trump Hotel in order to buy favor with the Prez? Or how Ivanka received patents from China while she was an advisor to her dad, the President?

Gosh, it's like this sort of thing has never happened before. If Donald could compartmentalize and ignore the attempt to influence his presidential decisions via his kids businesses, perhaps Uncle Joe also could?

Personally, I'm more concerned that a sitting member of Congress is under investigation of sex trafficking. I'm referring to Matt Gaetz.

Exactly! Remember when the Clinton's sold nights in the Lincoln Bedroom to their top donors? LOL. Bill and Hillary were running a B&B before it was cool! That is not how to compartmentalize.
