Democrat Attempt To Nationalize US Elections Is Stopped

Traditionally the US has let states run their own elections. But this year the Democrats have come up with a scheme to have the feds takeover state and local elections. It passed the House but the Senate needed sixty votes to pass. It failed 50-50.

Glad to see two centuries of voting history not overthrown by a partisan 51-50 vote.

I believe it was a Senate vote to just have a discussion about the bill, not pass the bill.

I'm curious to know why Republican controlled state legislatures want to restrict voting access.

Yes, it was a vote to not allow the bill forward. It is a dead bill per the U.S. Senate.

If they can suppress the turnout, they have a better chance of winning. Simple as that.

would you mind listing the ways Republicans suppress turnout ?

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Between January 1 and May 14, 2021, at least 14 states enacted 22 new laws that restrict access to the vote.

The United States is on track to far exceed its most recent period of significant voter suppression — 2011. By October of that year, 19 restrictive laws were enacted in 14 states. This year, the country has already reached that level, and it’s only May.

Thats some nice general journalistic bs but doesn’t answer the question. Please list the things that actually restrict people from voting. Then look at Biden’s state of Delaware and tell me if his state is restricting people from voting based on your assertions.

Why do you think that? Are Democrat voters wimpy and won't bother getting voting ID?
