Demonstrations in Cuba last week over the lack of vaccines, healthcare for the sick, and a bad economy. Will President Biden help the dictatorship by giving them vaccines?
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
It's curious why Cubans are supposedly demonstrating over a lack of vaccines since Cuba itself has developed two vaccines on its own and has five more in the pipeline. 26.7% of its population has received at least one dose and 15.3% have been fully vaccinated.
I don't believe that the protests were based on the lack of vaccines.
Thousands of Cubans in at least 16 cities took the streets peacefully on Sunday to demand an end to the 62-year-old communist regime, chanting “freedom,” wearing American flags, and in many cases facing extreme police repression.
Videos from throughout the island show both plain-clothed and uniformed state security officers attacking peaceful protesters. In Havana, bystanders recorded the sound of heavy gunfire and public beatings of dissidents. Miguel Díaz-Canel, the “president” appointed by Raúl Castro to be the face of the still-ruling Castro Communist Party, called for street “combat” against anyone demanding an end to the regime in a speech on Sunday.
Maybe Cuba is faking the effectiveness numbers of their vaccines? Remember when Canada found out the Chinese vaccines weren't as good as promised. I wonder if American Olympic athletes planning to kneel at the games notice the American flags that Cubans are flying proudly in Havana. Maybe we could trade the dissatisfied ones with the Cubans who plan to defect in Tokyo.

I'm more curious as to why you would ask that quiestion instead of showing evidence that the source is wrong. If the information provided is fact based, then why does it matter who the source is?
Our most trusted source should be our federal government, but it's pretty easy to find many many lies just over the last 6 months.
Perhaps you have a better source that shows evidence of Brieghtbart being wrong on this story.. please share if you do.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
Maybe you think the New York Times is a reliable news source that is more worthy of our trust... would that be an accurate statement koobookie? Here's hoew the NYT described what happened...
MIAMI — Shouting “Freedom” and other anti-government slogans, thousands of Cubans took to the streets in cities around the country on Sunday to protest food and medicine shortages, in a remarkable eruption of discontent not seen in nearly 30 years.
I don't know about anyone else here, but I've never thought of "FREEDOM" as being an anti-government slogan, I've always considered freedom as being the ultimate of all human rights. I put the NYT right up there with CNN and MSNBC when it comes to disinformation, lies, and horrible journalism.

Or maybe Cuba is not. Nobody knows.
What I do know is for 60 years, Cuba has been under a brutal U.S. blockade intended to impoverish its people and crush their government. But it has still managed to establish a higher life expectancy, and a higher literacy rate, than the United States. That is a miracle.
In the last UN vote, 184 countries voted to end the US embargo on Cuba, only Israel and the United States voted against it. Literally, most of the whole world wants to put an end to the embargo.
I'm not saying the story is false. Breitbart is well known for false and misleading information, so I was wondering if that is your source for news. I appreciate your response.
