What are your news sources? From where do you obtain your information?

I'll start - I look to NPR, AP News, CNN, CBS, BBC, sometimes WSJ. Then there are google and duckduckgo searches that give more local information.

Here's an graphic of media bias compiled earlier this year.

I have subscriptions to both The Washington Post and The New York Times. I also look at The Telegraph, BBC, NPR, The Hill, Politico, Twitter (great for new sources I don't normally check), Bloomberg, AP, and Axios.

LOL, it's a graph on the internet so it must be true. Just looking at where CNN is placed on the graph tells me it's complete bullshit. Bias by ommision isn't represented in that graph and it's as big a factor as incorrect information.

Who compiled this list and decided where each source should be placed? I don't see that information, which is extremely important since I've never heard of any organization that is free of bias or doesn't have a self serving agenda of some kind.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

I look at a lot of sources on that chart and believe those that don't leave out inconveniet details. I read as many as I disagree with because I have a sick need to understand the progressive mindset. I'm not afraid to look beyond my ideology, where as some here refuse to read a source they don't trust. I wonder why that is?

My second point was a question that nobody answered. I asked "Who compiled this list and decided where each source should be placed?"

Don't you think that question is relevant? Maybe your crickets have the information I'm looking for.

I don't eat food out of the garbage can. Do you also wonder why that is? But apparently some eat out of the garbage can just to understand what spoiled food tastes like. I don't drink water out of the toilet for the same reason.

So you admit you only want to listen to people you agree with? Your only measurement of alternative ideas and opinions is what you've been told by the people you trust.

Would you be willing to take a challenge that would force you to listen to the other side? I would be happy to participate in that kind of challenge if it meant we may all learn something that our trusted sources are not telling us or that our sources are actaully being dishonest with us.

I'm going to start a thread that I would love for you and others on both sides to participate in. If you have full confindence in your sources being accurate as well as thorough, this should be a cake walk for you.

So what are these sources that you trust? What news organizations do you read? Would you please name them?

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_Fontes_Media

Ad Fontes Media, Inc. is a Colorado-based media watchdog organization primarily known for its Media Bias Chart, which rates media sources in terms of political bias and reliability. The organization was founded in 2014 by patent attorney Vanessa Otero with the goal of combating political polarization. Ad Fontes Media uses a panel of analysts across the political spectrum to evaluate articles for the Chart.

One of Otero's reasons for creating the organization was that "many sources people consider to be 'news sources' are actually dominated by analysis and opinion pieces," and that "extreme sources play on people's worst instincts, like fear and tribalism, and take advantage of people's confirmation biases." In an interview with Newsy, she stated that "If people understood that the sources they are consuming are actively making them angrier and polarizing them, then they might choose to consume less of that."

www.adfontesmedia.com/

Ad Fontes is Latin for β€œto the source,” as our approach rates news by analyzing the source and its actual content. We use a rigorous, reproducible methodology – and a politically balanced team of analysts – to rate that content, both for bias and for reliability.
