If You Believe in Polls, Biden and Democrats are in Trouble

Americans’ optimism about the direction of the country has plunged nearly 20 percentage points since late April — with President Biden taking a beating over COVID-19, crime and the border, a new poll shows.

The ABC News/Ipsos poll — released Sunday amid the administration’s six-month mark — found that just 45 percent of Americans are optimistic about where the country is heading over the next year, down from the 64 percent this past spring.

Conversely, 55 percent of respondents in the new poll say they are pessimistic about the direction of the country, an increase from the 36 percent who said the same thing in the previous survey.

If you look at a variety of sources like I do, you won't be surprised by this poll. I have to wonder what kind of bubble someone must live in to be optimistic about our future given the facts we can all see, if we're looking anyway.

Here's part of the poll that really surprised me...

Broken down along political lines, in terms of Biden’s handling of immigration, 63 percent of Democrats approve, 7 percent of Republicans and 35 percent of independents.

I'm not surprised by the 7% of Republicans (those 7% are most likely anti-Trumpers), but 63% of Democrats approve? Dems should be worried about the low independent support and that's ponly going to get worse as the border crisis continues without any kind of plan to slow it down.

The margin of error of this poll is +-5%, so it could be only 2% instead of 7%.

Since Trump has been gone for 6 months now and this is a poll about Biden, I was really hoping someone woudn't resort to bringing up Trump.

Would you mind if I asked you to rate the CURRENT president and his performance on the economy, immigration, crime, and the unity he promised?

IN past posts I have indicated my concern/dissatisfaction with BOTH parties....one wants to "go back in
time" when the masses were saner and one wants to incite mayhem and malice. BOTH are needing to be replaced. AGAIN, we are in the throes of labor,a NEW NATION is badly needed. HOW that will look is still
uncertain.

LOL, all threads lead to Trump. It would not surprise me if all Biden / dem negative threads and i mean EVERY SINGLE ONE all lead to Trump in the first page. Two at the most.

You seem to have conveniently forgotten the entire four years that Trump blamed Obama or Hillary Clinton during his calamitous presidency. It's part of his "Greatest Hits" routine.

APPROVAL ratings up and down,they r rather fickle when ANY news is reported....I rarely,if ever, commented on TRUMP'S NUMBERS.....the factors involved in calculating , have been coalescing UNDER
BOTH ADMINISTRATIONS....rona does not really give a fat rats ass about approval, it is here to "clean up"
a condition and show the effect of said condition. From a metaphysical view.....U reap what U have sown
and the R's and D's have "sown some serious mistakes"......cause and effect.

I was here the whole time and you wrere not. That was not the case. We mostly discussed what Trump was doing and from the left it was mostly how horrible a human being he was. I wish we would have talked more about the actual policies rather than his personality. We did mock Hillary and others for blaming Russia for her loss though. As far as Obama goes, the argument was mostly whether his policies magically kicked in and made the economy boom just after Trump lowered taxes.

Now that Biden has reversed almost every Trump policy and everything is going to hell, nobody wants to defend Biden's policies.... best to keep blaming Trump.
