Another Dumb Mayor Bashing Her Own Stupid Policies

You really can't get any more brain dead than this fool. Last year she ignored the crime and defunded the police, now as her once great city is devolving like so many other Dem run cities, she's wanting more cops again. The first 1 minute is all you need to watch...

I prefer to call it a learning experience. She believed, thanks to anti police media, that cops were the bad guys and we needed to get rid of them, or at least cut their budget. After months of lawlessness, she realizes police are needed.

Sidebar: Denver has been running a test program, sending social workers with police backup to certain calls. This appears to be helping de-escalate the situations, reducing jail time and arrests. The mayor is hoping to expand this program, but I do worry what happens after the first social worker gets a beat down or even worse, is killed trying to defuse an incident.

Don't you think it's just common sense Fred? If she needed to 'learn' that getting rid of a significant numer of police officers would result in a significant number of increaded crime, she has no business running a city, or even her own household.

She's not the only one either, there's lots of dumbass Democrats across the country who have made the same 'mistake' and the people they are in charge of leading are paying many bad prices.

More stupidity, and yes, people with good intentions will be injured or killed because every situation has unknown factors that could be deadly. I guarantee our wimpy Gov wouldn't volunteer to go break up a domestic violence dispute.

The real irony about the defund the police movement? Police numbers have been dropping for decades. There are many less police per citizen now than there were fifty years ago. Crime was falling, population was rising and municipalities did not keep up by hiring enough officers. Now crime is climbing again, so now those Biden Bucks will be hiring more police and giving them raises to keep them on board despite decreasing the number of tools they have to arrest criminals.

LOL. I hope the "defund" mayors wind up having to give out raises and hiring bonuses to keep enough police officers around. Still predict many would rather retire than work under their new "Rules Of Engagement".

I'm not too sure of your police work there, Lou. The FBI numbers appear to show a steady increase in numbers since 2013. I wasn't able to find numbers for "police per citizen" in a quick search. I'm sure that varies greatly by city.

Police per citizen numbers have been declining for decades, but the piece I read was from over a decade ago so it might be out of date. Since 9/11, I could see where federal police numbers are rising with the creation of Homeland Security and it seems every federal bureaucracy has added their own police force.
