I can see the kids signing up for a little spending cash, but I have to wonder if it will make the state look bad if the rest of the country keeps seeing high numbers every week this school year. And will educators like this because they can then go back to remote learning? What should be the percentage needed to shut down a school? 5%? 1%?
And as an offshoot, Jefferson County in a recent report admitted to having more than 20 schools with less than 200 pupils. Wouldn't now be a great time to shut down those schools? The district could even make some money by selling the high priced real estate to build more homes.
