We have had inexperienced presidents before. President Obama was a great example, but often they are able to collect well experienced staff to help guide them. I think Obama did pretty good putting people around him who knew how to get things done. Trump? Not so much, he ran as an outsider and many of the experienced Republicans in DC refused to work for him. In one way, he steered clear of the swamp, but his appointments often had to learn on the job.
