America's Long Term Covid-19 Goals?

Has anyone come up with a definition of success? No Covid-19 deaths in a state for a month? No Covid-19 infections in a state for a month? Or will it be like Australia and New Zealand? A couple infections and everyone gets locked down again? What would be your guidelines if you were running the nation? Keep in mind, there will always be at least 10% who will refuse a vaccine. And the vaccine doesn't prevent infection, just tends to minimize effects. Just this week, three vaccinated US senators were infected.

The goal must be to completely eradicate Covid, which would be like trying to completely eradicate the flu. If we don't want to continue destroying the country we need to treat this like the flu and learn how to live with it, even though some will die, just like with the flu.

Covid-19 is closer to the common cold, it will never be eradicated, but hopefully it will get weaker. But the nations of the world cannot keep shutting down every time there is an infection spike.
