Biden Is Betting Americans Will Forget About Afghanistan

Call it the White House’s dream scenario: In the end, the voters don’t blame Joe Biden. The president’s withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan simply aligns him with everyone else who has given up on the notion that the military could mold a fractious country into a stable democratic ally. The administration is hoping that grisly images of desperate Afghans clinging to a C-17 fade, replaced by collective relief that no more Americans will die in a murky, brutal war that spanned two decades and four presidencies.

Despite the Taliban’s rapid takeover of Afghanistan, White House officials and people close to Biden don’t foresee his decision hurting Democrats in next year’s midterm elections, nor in the presidential race that follows. Their argument is that the nation should be reassured that a president who vowed during the 2020 campaign to end “ forever wars” made good on the promise.

Will it work? Biden’s allies are betting so.

This will never be forgotten, but they will probably remove Biden so the stain stays with him and isn't on the hands of the people who probably made these bad decisions for him. I know, conspiracy theory, but if you've been watching this like I have, you see that nobody is correcting his lies, they are just letting him repeat them.

Today Biden goes back to Delaware and Harris is out of country. Does that mean the Taliban are taking the weekend off too? I hope the sleeping people are waking up, finally.

I could see the Biden Administration hoping Hurricane Henri really messes up New England so that it takes Biden's disastrous "Dumbkirk" off the front pages. Then President Biden can be seen handing out checks and loans and looking presidential rather than stumbling through another tightly controlled press event.

This will only be forgotten because the media will quit talking about it, no matter how many horrible stories come to light. They will continue to milk Covid and Jan 6th (the non-insurrection) until they find a Republican mark to hammer.

I am actually impressed the liberal reporters from CNN and other media that are actually on the ground in Kabul refusing to accept the lies from Team Biden and our generals about the withdrawal

Fred, that's how I know Biden is on borrowed time right now. The media never goes after a Democrat unless they know that man or woman is going down. Cuomo is a great example of that. Anyone with a functioning brain knew Cuomo was a dirtbag and he should have been removed when it was clear he was responsibly for thousands of nursing home deaths and then attempted to cover it up. The media mostly ignored those deaths and only went after him when the women started accusing him . They know the nursing home deaths didn't bother the Dem base as much as creepy words and touching, which goes to their overall lack of credibility.

Think Jill and the White House are looking for a good time for her husband to take a medical retirement? Maybe around Christmas time? It is taking so much effort to pretend the president is still capable and functioning.

I do not think they can wait that long. They are caught between a REALLY big rock and a really hard hard place. I predict it will ether be a medical crisis or something that is totally laughable.

They are so used to the sycophant media do not realize that they lie like children. Or they are too stupid.
