Nicer politics? The only way I see that happening is if a foreign enemy unites us. Right now both sides are convinced that the other party is the biggest danger to America.

..."“Speculation around Trump never goes away, and the latest Smarkets odds suggest we should be taking the prospect of a re-election bid seriously,” Smarkets head of political markets Matthew Shaddick said in an email. “He’s now the clear favorite to be the Republican nominee and is on the verge of overtaking President Biden as the most likely winner overall in 2024.”...
OH BUT, what u r NOT taking into account is the accumulation of legal issues(over the next 18 mo),that will
provide a proof positive GUILTY. U can't be POTUS when u r legally liable for a multitude of crimes. WATCH WHAT HAPPENS,because SDNY is collecting massive amounts of evidence and a conviction is coming.

Way too early to speculate on who will be the leading presidential candidates in 2024 but I will say I don't think Trump has a chance of being the nominee. And it is because of Biden. America will have three years watching a stumbling, bumbling old man in the White House, only slightly older than President Trump. I predict more youthful nominees will be selected. But wouldn't it be bizarre if the Donald won, the Grover Cleveland of the 21st century.

Back on topic, is there anyone reading this who thinks Democrats would put Harris up as their next nominee? What has she done in the last 9 months that has changed how Democrats feel about her? With so many more likable women in that party, why is it that the two most unlikable women (Harris and Clinton) have gotten the closest to the big prize?

WTH does likeability have to do with anything? The past POTUS was a sociopath and egocentric individual.
The two women you refer to have LEGAL PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUNDS (attorney) and being efficient
and STRONG women is NOT a deficit. Gretchen Whitmeyer ,a D and Nikki Hailey (R) seem like possibilities
ABRAHMS would hit all the high points, but that is not going to happen.JMO
Tell me HA, does it matter at all to you that both Harris and Clinton got to where they are only because of powerful men they had relationships with? You can try to twist history but you can't change those facts. If Hillary and Harris were capable of getting to where they are on their own they would have to be likable OR they would have to have had their own accomplishments, without the help of a husband or boyfriend. There are plenty of Democrat women who have risen to the top without a man's influence because they are accomplished and they are much more likable.
Trump got to the presidency because he accomplished a lot outside of politics but he wasn't universally liked by Republicans. I couldn't stand him but the more I heard what he wanted to do for the country, the more I liked him. After 3 years of his presidency, I likely him a lot because of his accomplishments.
Obama on the other hand had a resume that lacked real experience that would help him understand how to fix our economy, but he was extremely likable. His likability is what gave him the advantage over Clinton who had much more experience (in Washington anyway). Likability matters even though it shouldn't, it's just a factor that always has to be considered in any election.
