I am okay with spending money on more solar and wind projects but people have to admit they simply aren't reliable. Europe is finding that out right now. The winds stopped blowing this year for some reason.
Biden wants to open up the coasts of America to new windfarms. I would love to see some analysis on the economics of this. Sea air is corrosive, how much maintenance is required to keep these sea windmills from rusting? And at what cost?
Plus you have to think rich people with million dollar ocean views will sue to prevent these windfarms from being installed and ruining their yachting. The Kennedy clan did just that years ago to prevent windmills off their coastal compound.
Droughts? Devastation? While the costs of storm damage has been rising, the death totals have been falling. So maybe that is just inflation? Droughts? Droughts happened even before the Industrial Revolution. The Mesa Verde people were driven from their cliff homes after years of drought. But with technology, crop yields continue to rise.
