Darwin Award Entrant? was created by ramage
Colorado hiker, lost for 24 hours, ignored rescuers' calls because hiker didn’t recognize the number

LCSAR has now left other hikers with some advice: "If you’re overdue according to your itinerary, and you start getting repeated calls from an unknown number, please answer the phone."

DUH!

Got one better...(already posted it,BUT it deserves a repeat.)
Two climbers from New Jersey (per Fairbanks News Miner) attempting to summit DENALI IN Alaska
during summer solstice...911 gets call from them....they are sorely sunburned and need evac. Dispatch says...chopper not available till next morning, will evac then. SIDENOTE, AT THAT LATITUDE AND LONGITUDE there is about 22 hours of daylight during summer solstice, guess that factor was NOT
figured into what supplies to pack.
