Home values in Colorado have increased by an average of $78,000. Increasing wealth for people who were smart enough to buy a home. But 78,000 in one year is extreme! Wonder when home building will ever catch up?
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
I fear that a lot of people have gotten in over their heads and pocketbooks. real estate is a tangible asset that is paralleling inflation. Once the Fed starts to raise rates the number of buyers will be much fewer. Hopefully, people are buying for the long run and not thinking that they will be able to flip the house in what they think is a perpetual hot market.
My timeline will is about 3 months before I sell my overpriced home. If we don’t get the lodge we’re looking at, we are going to hold off buying until the inevitable crash.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
I sincerely hope that everything works out for you. Know the Buffalo - Sheridan area and it is God's country.
My wife and I took a 500 mile bike trip throughout Western WY, starting and ending there, circa 2005. You cannot go wrong if you like a laidback lifestyle, except for tourist season.
Yes, we bought our home during the slump in housing in '88, then borrowed enough to gut it, remodel and add onto. I used to kid that it was the $48K house I still owed $165K on! Paid it off before we retired and last market estimate was over $400K! Ridiculous!
And you can't beat Buffalo, WY. We love it. We spend a week or better up there every year for Longmire Days. And Wyoming being the least populated state in the nation has its definite advantages, also!
C.J. Box is pure Wyoming. Craig Johnson's Longmire series is certainly WY, I don't know his other works. Zane Grey, who I enjoy, is more generically Western.
When you read Joe Pickett, if you have been in the Buffalo area, it feels just like that area. Saddlestring (his home town) brings to mind Ten Sleep, WY
I am sorry to stray from the thread, but it is wonderful to find a kindred soul as to WY fiction.

We watched the first four seasons on network, then Netflix picked up the series which we don't get, so ended up buying all six on Amazon. It's worth keeping and re-visiting. It's not a Dances With Wolves or Yankee Doodle Dandy, but, as a series, I find it superior to the usual. I hear Yellowstone is good, too. I have it on DVD too, but haven't had time to watch it yet. Did anyone else like it besides my best friend???
