Here in Montrose, I ASKED a city Market employee...no issues, business as usual...I will NOT GO ACROSS A PICKET LINE,and I was being proactive in my shopping. The problem they r having is TRUCK DELIVERIES....items in flyer r not available in warehouse.
CWA strikes (communications of America) lasted no longer than 3 1/2 weeks...benefits r lost after 1 month. Hell, we even went out on a "wildcat strike" our locales were rebels. I remember it well because the movie FLASHDANCE was trending. They wanted to give INDIVIDUAL penalties to the strikers...I stated HELL NO,
we went out as a whole unit....we will take the penalties as a whole unit. (the union then asked me to be a union steward), i DECLINED.
The King Soopers in Conifer is not involved in the strike. It would be interesting to note how many customers from Evergreen (KS is on strike there) will come to Conifer to shop.
I think that the strike is doomed to failure because of the fact that not all KS stores are participating and that Safeway, Walmart, etc offer readily accessible alternatives especially in the Denver area.
I think the teachers unions have done a lot of damage to the image of unions in general, so I wouldn't be surprised if the strike doesn't garner much sympathy. I normally don't shop at King Soopers, but I wouldn't have a problem crossing that line.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.
GOOD ON THE UNION.....good n those that would NOT cross the picket line......POWER TO THE PEOPLE who have put themselves on the line to service the public during this p.o.s.pandemic/questionable chaos.
