But as soon as data from more rigorous and comprehensive studies started to come in, it became clear that ivermectin was not a magical cure. In July, for example, a systematic review by the highly respected and independent Cochrane Collaboration — an international academic organization that does evidence reviews to inform clinical practice — concluded that there was no good evidence to support the use of the drug to treat or prevent Covid.
Your title is a lie. Ivermectin has been used to help humans for decades. Current evidence says it doesn't work for Covid-19, but it might eventually help with a variant.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
The NEJM article, if one deigns to actually read it, uses dosage of Ivermectin that is 40% less that that used by practitioners nor is it given in the early phases of onset of symptoms as those who prescribe the medication do.
Ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine are indicated as an early therapeutic intervention not as a therapy for full blown infection. I realize that this is a difficult concept for some to understand.
As to the posting regarding a "thyroid panel" I have no understanding of what the poster is trying to say other than she/he is able to regurgitate the Merck Manual.

WRONG O, BUCK O........try How Dr. Think. by Jerome Groopman,M.D. or The Thyroid Solution, by Ridha Arem,M.D, OR STOP THE THYROID MADNESS BY JANIE A BOWTHROPE,M.ED.(who knows the thyroid mis treatment until SHE researched it 2002)
In the book HOW DOCTORS THINK......THE BASIC PREMISE IS....doctors r not taught to think out of the box, linear thinking is book learned. It is NOT the students fault, it is the LACK of GOOD educators. Questioning, prompting AND independent thinking r NOT in the curriculum . Using well worn "formulas"
of diagnosis is a problem.....U(as a patient) have to ASK...could it be something else,or what else could be
causing the symptoms? (per the book,THIS question then allows the linear thinking to be disrupted and
a NEW thought process to take it's place....."out of the box" mindset can begin.
