Did Oklahoma Go Too Far?

The legislature just passed a law that says life begins at conception. The governor hasn't signed it into law yet. It will be interesting to see what happens here. Will the courts overturn it if he does?

The bill sent on to the Governor is designed to force a dialogue as to when live begins. In her comments, on another thread, HA contends that it is an economic decision. I am in disagreement with her position.
".WHO,HOW WOULD.,U AFFORD TO SUPPORT/NURTURE/FEED CARE FOR ANOTHER MOUTH???? when u r already living on the brink of poverty......"
Yet her comment suggests that the birth mother so cares for her baby that she will raise it rather than avail herself of adoption services. Evidently these mothers do not think of their swollen abdomen in economic terms.

I believe u r REQUIRED to research and KNOW THE ABYSMAL ADOPTION RATE. i ALSO BELIEVE U SHOULD VISIT A SOC, WORKER AND HAVE AN EXTENSIVE DIALOGUE ABOUT THE PROBLEM OF AGING OUT OF THE SYSTEM.

"here are over 420,000 children in foster care in the United States.
Over 110,000 need adoptive homes right now.
About 20,000 age out of foster care every year, at age 18 without anyone, to live on their own, unprepared and unsupported.

Growing up I went to a Catholic grade school. I was born in 1965, like many of my classmates. About 20% of my classmates were kids adopted before Roe V. Wade was the law of the land. I got to be good friends with so many of them. I wonder how many would have been aborted if Roe had become the law of the land in 1960.

Numbers that are too high to be sure. Do you really think that killing them is an option?

I do wonder if part of the problem there is that they make the adopting process so difficult. Friends of ours adopted a cousin's child and the process was incredibly complicated and taxing. If it wouldn't have been a family member, they would have given up on the process.

TWO real realities for the bolded and ADD A THIRD REALITY WHEN R.V.W IS OVER TURNED.

1. understaffed, too many cases assigned to workers,
2. PAY not adequate for the job responsibilities.

AND THREE.....MORE BABIES/CHILDREN ENTERING INTO SYSTEM ALREADY OVERTAXED AND UNDERFUNDED.......THE RESULT....aging out of the system at 18 y.o....SCREWED by an antiquated
system and a throw away society.
