In case you didn't think about it:
Your grandma wore very short mini skirts, thin panties, high boots, and no bra...
She listened to Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Janis Joplin and Rolling Stones.
She rode on motorcycles and fast cars.
She smoked tobacco and other things...
She drank gin-tonics, whiskey and whatever...
She came home at 4 am and left for work in the morning...
Know that you will never be as cool as your grandma.
Excuse me but someone had to say it.
I graduated in 81 and would normally agree Fred, but as I look back from this age, those 60's- 70's girls had a look that held up to time much better imo.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

71 yet somehow I missed it. I guess the slider ruler in my pocket turned them off or they were just shallow.
I was a late bloomer....once I was in corp America, late 70's early 80's,...I found 'the need for speed" Supra Celica fast back.....sleek black beauty. Motorcycles were a chick magnet, wind blowing freely thru your hair, the brisk feel of fresh air, holding on tightly to your partner and LEANING INTO GRAVITY around a curve,
like being at one with road.......long island ice teas AND margs (YUCK GIN AND TONIC). Cigs were for student union and Baccarat (remember that board game??) Because I was in a professional building downtown Denver,,,,mid calf length ,form fitting sweater dresses, with stacked boots, OR working in plant
outside of metro, 501 Levis and white shirt (standard) fare. (LOVE 501 Levi's).....NO HIGH HEELS, Just FRYE boots.....ALWAYS dated younger men, men my age just seemed OLD. (PROBABLY TMI,but it was back in the day and FUN was the first priority.
CORRECTIION...the board game was Baccgamit (spg?)

True, some of those Westminster girls had really tall hair! But some Goth girls were really cute, others were really scary! Some of the 70's hairdo's were pretty nice, like the Farrah, or the Pamela Ewing.

I came of age in the 60's. No, I did not go to Woodstock, my roommates did and my girl friend suggested that we stay behind and have the house to ourselves. They walked through mud for 5-10 miles never got close enough to see the stage but had a great time. 2 of them off to the service later in the fall. Thankfully came back without injury until later in life. Exposure to Agent Orange for one, peripheral neurological issues, i.e. anesthetic feet, subsequent loss of balance.
In my opinion, the BCP (birth control pill) had unintended consequences. No fear of pregnancy, have sex casually. With the riots of the 60's, the drugs came out of the black communities and into white culture, at the same time pyschedelic drugs emerged from the labs and native communities, primarily of West Coast origin..
Here was the mix, no fear of pregnancy, great highs drugs and alcohol (18 was legal then) and going to Vietnam looming overall. What could go wrong?
By the way did I forget to mention the music?

My parents had three kids by the time Woodstock rolled around. So they were too busy to see the show, but those kids might have kept dad out of Vietnam. He was building tank treads for Goodyear in Ohio instead at the time.
Was it worse growing up in the 1960's the 1980's or now?
I do feel like today's kids missed out on a lot of school and years with friends.
I sure can't remember any quarantines when I was growing up, except for Chickenpox.
