Nord Stream Pipeline Sabotaged?

27 Sep 2022 13:59 #1 by FredHayek
There were reports of multiple explosions underwater in the Baltic Sea. Russians? But why not just take the pipeline offline for maintenance if you want to deny Europe natural gas?
Environmentalists? Perfect time to strike while Europe is filling up for the Winter months.

2 or more leaks have been detected as LPG heads to the surface.

Recall this by Slo Joe:

In the above video, Biden says that if Russia crosses the Ukraine border, there will be no Nordstream 2.
Follow the money, with flow completely shut off Europeans have no choice but to buy LPG from the U.S.

Apparently I am not the only one considering this possibility:
A former Polish Defense Minister, Radek Sikorski, has attributed to the United States the sabotage of two pipelines, Nord Stream 1 and 2, which carry natural gas from Russia to Germany. “Thank you, USA,” Sikorski wrote on Twitter. Sikorski was Minister of National Defense from 2005 - 2007 and served as Deputy Minister of National Defense and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, previously. He is currently an elected member of the European parliament.

But we all know that Trump did it.

It gets worse:

In essence the USNA conducted underseas exercises in the area of the explosions. They were testing underwater mines that could be detonated by remote control.

Interesting! I was going with the environmental whackos because both spots are not very deep and capable of being done with civilian equipment, but I forgot how often the government likes to f*** things up accidentally.

It seems that the U.S. has had experience in this area:

Back in the early 1980s, the Reagan Administration was intent on blocking the first Soviet Trans-Siberian gas pipeline to western Europe that became the beginning of Nord Stream system of today. Unable to persuade the Europeans to block the pipeline, the CIA fed the Soviets bad software (since the KGB was stealing American technology secrets left and right) that caused the pipeline to explode in spectacular fashion in 1982, setting back the project by months if not years.

So it’s not like we haven’t done something like this before.

Yes, Israel and the US also have sabotaged Iranian nuclear and petrol operations, even down to gas stations.

Yes, they did. Now we are talking about the absolute dependence of Europe on the U.S. supple of LNG. Otherwise freeze.
Well, you do what you got to do.

I am reading articles that are convinced that the Russians sabotaged both pipelines. Why sabotage when you can just turn off the tap?
