Former Attorney General William Barr on Monday called for a new leader of the Republican Party, warning in a blistering rebuke that former President Trump “will burn the whole house down.”
“Unless the rest of the party goes along with him, he will burn the whole house down by leading ‘his people’ out of the GOP,” Barr said in a scathing op-ed published in the New York Post on Monday.
“Trump’s willingness to destroy the party if he does not get his way is not based on principle, but on his own supreme narcissism,” he added. “His egoism makes him unable to think of a political party as anything but an extension of himself — a cult of personality.”
Let the Republican primary voters decide if they want President Trump to be our nominee rather than AG Merrick Garland trying to find an obscure rule to make Donald ineligible.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
Why not " burn the whole house down.”
Are the establishment Republicans frightened of losing their sinecure? Barr should realize that there is a significant number of voters that are not al all satisfied with the "Party" as Barr knows it.
The uniparty destroyed the Tea Party but it had not leader. These same voters have been show that they can win via the 2016 election. No one ever said that it was going to be easy but Trump showed that the people could do it.
Letting the people decide seems to be a big problem for people who support Democrats. From abortion, to education, to “vaccinations”, it really isn’t democracy that they want.
It was always the women, and above all the young ones, who were the most bigoted adherents of the Party, the swallowers of slogans, the amateur spies and nosers−out of unorthodoxy
