Doing so will provide a lifeline to millions of people who are under attack by anti-immigrant politicians and it cannot wait: Send a message to Congress telling them to support a pathway to citizenship.
By giving Dreamers citizenship despite them not being born in the United States, you are rewarding the lawbreakers who illegally entered the US by letting their children become citizens.
Then these Dreamers could then sponsor the parents who broke US law and risked their children's lives.
