16. We thought that the tabloidization of our news coverage could not get more tawdry or destructive after the trial of O.J. Simpson (1995), the paparazzi mob that pursued Princess Diana to her death (1997), or the press scrum surrounding the whole Clinton saga (1998 to 2000), which happened to supercharge a new television network, Fox News. Were we ever wrong. Due, in large part, to the menacing aspects of social media, the 24/7 scandal cycle has turned out to be even more devastating over time—to lives, careers, reputations, public discourse, and the American psyche.

Do you think America was a better place when the press refused to tell America that FDR was very ill, had Polio, and could barely walk during WWII?
Or that JFK and a mob boss were sharing a woman? Or that JFK was high most of the time on painkillers because his war related back pain was so horrible.

Or the Eisenhower was having an affair with his British driver during WWII? A driver who was recruited by London to spy on the American general?

Yes, some of this is tawdry but if people in power are doing things which make them open to blackmail, shouldn't we know about it?

American voters just elected a representative named Santos who has a checkered past full of lies. Wouldn't it be nice to have a press that actually investigated candidates and their pasts?

Biden has been telling lies about his work history and education for years and a lot in the last two years.

The press has had every opportunity to call him out yet they never did. The left is a journalism free space and unlikely to change.

Although, CNN is dying so hard that they are talking about replacing Cuomo with a comedian. So just another unfunny Colbert.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

Enough of the "we" Monica speak for yourself. By the way, congratulations on catapulting fellatio into a
money making career. By that I mean you took it to a level that is not available to other females with less politically well known clients.

How SOON we forget Anita Hill...pre dating Monica. She desperately detailed her experiences with ANOTHER male superior.....to no avail. With class and concise behavior, she was disregarded anyway.

You forgot Tara Reid, who was actually sexually assaulted by the current occupant.
