I saw new statistics that one in four adult Americans has a AR-15. I know 20 million AR-15's used to be the number in America but I think it is much higher than that by now. 20 million plus rifles but they are used in less than 500 deaths per year. (FBI stats) For 330 million people, very low death rate.
Ban them? You can print up a receiver with no serial number using current 3D printers. Just buy an unregulated parts kit and you can make a fun family activity day, building AR's.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.

AR-15 owners explain why they have the weapon
“To ensure I would not be outgunned if I had to defend my family and property with the rate that society is going.” A 52-year-old man..........65 percentile state this.
