Trump had inherited Fauci, the head of the NIAID, when the Covid pandemic began. Hard to can him at the time. Who else was available to step in? It was obvious, at least to me, that the MSM promoted him as a savant, and would be difficult to force out, especially with the MSM discrediting and de-platforming, anyone who proposed alternatives to the Fauci way.
That being said, I think that Trump will in some fashion state that the draconian measures went on too long.
Fauci has other problems, i.e. Rand Paul referring him to the DOJ for lying to Congress, and the royalty checks in received from drug companies.
