GREAT CIVILIZATIONS BECAME OBSOLETE AND VANISHED.
Read it years ago. Just left Greenland and kept thinking about how the Norse were fated to lose there, but they still lasted 500 years there. Longer than America.
Also recommend Guns, Germs, and Steel. Don't agree with everything Diamond says but he does make your analyze your own beliefs.
