Who will replace him? And does this pretty much set up a win for the Democrats on the next Continuing Resolution?

Or will Donald Trump run for the job?

There were 8 Republicans who voted to oust MCarthy and, of course, the entire democrat caucus. Ken Buck was a vote to oust him, Lauren Bobert did not vote to oust him but could have voted present.
Very interesting politics.

the seven Republicans who joined Gaetz on Tuesday afternoon to remove McCarthy were: Ken Buck, Andy Biggs, Tim Burchett, Eli Crane, Bob Good, Nancy Mace and Matt Rosendale.

Representative Patrick McHenry of North Carolina will be speaker pro temp until a new one is elected.

Ken Buck voted the same as all the other Democrats.B)

Let me be clear, Ken Buck voted to remove Kevin McCarthy from the Speakership. The democrats voted in lockstep, as expected, to also remove McCarthy.
Do you not find it of interest that there was no support for McCarthy from the democrats?

Doesn't surprise me. The DNC does a much better job keeping their elected politicians in line on major votes.

They love to see the GOP in chaos.

Yup

Even if there is no plan yet, the status quo was hot garbage and the GOP needs to keep growing some spine and balls. Offense has been lacking

I am amused at the "drama"....the disintegration of Democracy, decided chaos and ultimately a NEW paradigm.... excited to see how this unfolds.

Too many Republican politicians don't care if they have national power, they are okay just being elected and getting their committee assignments. They aren't true conservatives.

100%

They are also exactly like Democrats and don’t want their cushy corrupt system disrupted by outsiders who don’t need to be worthless leaches (Trump).
