A senior official involved in the report declined to say if the panel's intelligence briefings showed any Chinese and Russian nuclear weapons cooperation.

"We worry ... there may be ultimate coordination between them in some way, which gets us to this two-war construct," the official said on condition of anonymity.

The findings would upend current U.S. national security strategy calling for winning one conflict while deterring another and require huge defense spending increases with uncertain congressional support.

"We do recognize budget realities, but we also believe the nation must make these investments,"

So, we either prepare for war or we pretend it could never happen here and hope our enemies never attack.

In this current environment, which choiced would you make if you were in charge of protecting the country?

IMO, at the very least, we should never drain our strategic oil reserves for temporary political gain, yet that's exactly what king Biden did. Since oil powers absolutely everything and we would all perish without it, increasing our oil production drastically would be be the smart move at this point in time. It's too bad the people leading us have zero common sense and don't seem to be at all concerned with the prosperity and security of this country. Solar panels and windmills will save us though...

Skeptical that the US can fight a two front war. We can't even keep Ukraine and Israel stocked. Imagine if China uses the Hamas/Hezbollah/Israel fight distraction to launch an invasion of Taiwan?

If I were in charge of protecting the country I would stop aid to Ukraine. Jumpstart our oil production.
Secure the southern border. Put sanctions on Iran and stop transfer of funds to them. Mothball our aircraft carriers.
That's just a beginning.

I fear Biden’s intentional border blunder may have already let in too many people who wish to hurt this country. So many impeachable offenses, yet this POS is still immune because of the system that protects him and the rest of the Democrats.

Without a speaker, the House is unable to consider any legislation to aid Israel in its war against Hamas or pass any appropriations bills to avoid a potential government shutdown PER WAPO

Jim Jordan has won the support of the Republican caucus for the speakership. Now it remains to be seen how many Republicans will vote against him on the floor.
The Washington Post neglects to point out that there is a speaker pro tempore in place who has all the powers of a speaker.

Donald Trump-endorsed Ohio Republican Jim Jordan, and enough of them refused to get on board with Scalise after Jordan’s loss that, more than a day later, Scalise still had not locked up the requisite two hundred and seventeen votes to secure the Speakership. Member after member emerged from a conference meeting on Thursday fuming—and forced to admit that the Party was at an impasse. “Eight traitors” have “paralyzed” the House, Mike Rogers, of Alabama, a Scalise ally, told reporters. His gloomy prognosis was that no one might ever emerge with enough votes to win.

HA,
Please do not take this as an ad hominem attack. You continue to post excerpts from articles and one must infer that your opinion parrots that of the article. Often, as is the case in the reference below it is out of date. Do you bother to read your citations or are you simply misunderstanding your citation.
As I stated above Jim Jordan has secured the nomination of the Republican caucus. As we say here in the West, you citation is a "day late and a dollar short."
To paraphrase Longfellow, "Why don't you speak for yourself, John" ( From the Courtship of Miles Standish.)
So what is your opinion as to his nomination?
