President Reagan(R) appointed the conservative to be the first woman Supreme Court Justice. Interesting to read the tributes to her. Some call her pragmatic, but not a true constitutional purist. Probably more moderate than Republicans wanted, but Reagan tended to not be a true political conservative either.
