That’s because the 92-page opinion issued by New York Supreme Court Justice Arthur F. Engoron was tailor-made to withstand appeal—and give the state’s First Judicial Department a roadmap to uphold the decision.

“The reason why this opinion is so long and so specific is to emphasize to the appellate court how much care the judge took in issuing this decision,” said Jennifer B. Arlin, an expert on appeals who teaches legal writing at Brooklyn La

Checkmate is solid? Another one of your 100 "wait for it" moments? Yeah, we are still waiting. Perhaps visiting some information outside your bubble would be helpful.

This POS judge is causing more money to leave that dying city. Congrats.

Nothing like a partisan judge. This is the same NY state that had its citizens vote to ban gerrymandering. The Democrat controlled legislature threw out the special plan of the bipartisan group and created their own congressional districts that strictly favored Democrat representatives and ignored the will off the voters.

Just like the Colorado legislature which threw out Amendment HH results in a special session.
