Think Nikki Haley can beat President Trump in liberal Colorado and it's open primary system? A large percentage of Colorado voters are undeclared and receive both parties choices. They can send only one parties ballot it.

The Colorado Republican party is considering using a caucus system to apportion delegates to the Republican convention. The primary is non-binding and is a construct of the Colorado legislature. The party was rebuffed in its efforts to return to a system in which only registered members could vote. As of now anyone can vote in the primary, Republicans, democrats, independents, but they can only vote in one primary.
