Lost Democrat Opportunities

A made up scenario to fuel your fears. Nice.

The point is that do you, Fred or Bob, feel the need to codify second amendment rights? No? Why?

That's the same thing liberals felt, for fifty years, about abortion rights. "We don't need to codify it, because it is recognized as a right," even though conservatives kept chipping away at that right.

The 2nd Amendment counts as code, don't you think?

And made up scenario? Red Flag seizures are happening nationally right now. Are you that uninformed? It is a law in Colorado currently.

You are right about laws being challenged every year. The Supreme Court seems to make a ruling on the 1st Amendment every session.

And the 2nd Amendment looks very different now than it did fifty years ago.

Yet the rights in those amendments are not being taken away. They are still there. Do you feel the need to codify those rights?

The rights are evolving as we speak even though the amendments haven't changed a word in over two hundred years.

A Supreme Court ruling isn't a codification. An amendment is.

Codification of abortion rights wasn't necessary because it was considered a right.

Is codification of first & second amendment rights necessary? Do we need to codify all the constitutional rights into law just in case the Supreme Court decides to erase more of our rights?
