Wow. What a sad, bitter view of the world you have. I feel sorry for you.
What do you get for your taxes? Do you ever ask yourself that question? Obviously not.
You get, among other things, these items:
The freedom to roam this country in safety
The peace of mind knowing that there are police, fire, and EMT services
Living without fear, not needing a wall around my house
Federal, state, and county parks and protected areas to enjoy
Being able to go to the beach without fear of a terrorist attack or foreign invasion
The ability to operate a business and make as much money as I'm willing to put forth the effort to make
Going to a food store that has endless choices and no shortages
The ability to turn on my tap and clean, safe water comes out all of the time
…in short, everything pretty much all other Americans enjoy and often take for granted. Taxes are the rent we pay to live in this country. The rent is on a sliding scale, based on a rough percentage of annual income and real estate holdings.
But no, all you see is the downside, never the benefits.
