Or maybe Black voters turn out for Harris after all: At least one new poll, from CBS, has Black voters saying they’ll turn out in numbers as high as in 2020, when they helped Biden defeat Trump. “We are seeing they don’t dislike her, and they don’t distrust her — they just have more questions about her,” Woodbury said.

To that end, Harris is explicitly targeting Black men in the final weeks of the campaign, rolling out a plan called an Opportunity Agenda for Black Men. In it, she talks about providing loans for Black business owners, legalizing marijuana and addressing health issues that affect Black people.

That’s the right direction, said Cornell Belcher, who worked on polling for both of Obama’s campaigns. “She still has work to do,” he said of Harris’s campaigning for Black votes. “But I will also tell you that a month out from the election in 2012, I didn’t have Barack Obama in any of our polling at 90 percent of the Black vote, either.”

I do wonder that Kamala might get a high percentage of African American voters but will many of them just stay home who enthusiastically voted for BHO.
