The 50 year old was shot leaving a New York hotel this week. Will we see more assassinations of corporate heads as frustrated leftists fume about their election losses?
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
Given they are still looking for a suspect in the shooting, and therefore the political leanings of same can't be known, isn't it a bit early to be presupposing the murderer is a leftist and the shooting is the result of election losses as opposed to, oh, I don't know, someone who lost a loved one to an illness that United Healthcare refused to cover and the bereaved blamed the CEO for the loss of the one they loved?
Agree. Should have put more question marks in my theory. Equally likely is someone who lost a relative to a decision United Health made on an individual case.
And to put another twist in this bizarre murder, the victim was being investigated by the Feds for insider trading. Did a co-conspirator want to shut him up?

The shooter had a suppressor on his weapon and it appeared to have locked up after the first shot. Might have stopped some shooters, but this assassin calmly reset the slide and fired again.
(Some silenced weapons will not fire a second time automatically in order to reduce noise level, but sometimes it just happens accidentally. The gun will not reset because the silencer reduces the energy needed to recock the firearm.)

I heard the words were deny, defend, and depose, but it could still be a reference to the book you mentioned. Shooter obviously is missing a few nuggets from his Happy Meal, so he might have one of the words in the title wrong too.
The words were etched onto the brass, so they would be intact after being ejected from the firearm used during the assassination of the CEO.
I've seen some speculation about the type of firearm used. One of the hypotheses was that it was some sort of bolt action handgun. Others are saying there was a jam of some kind that the murderer was quickly able to clear, indicating he was well familiar with the operation of the firearm.
Between the fingerprints he left on the phone he dropped, the DNA he left on the Starbucks cup, and the image of his face from the hostel when he was flirting with the woman who checked him in, I have no doubt that he'll be identified in short order. LEOs probably already know who he is and aren't quite ready to identify him publicly.
United Healthcare might have a tough time finding someone to be their new CEO.
Most disliked Healthcare organization
Target of a SEC insider trading investigation
And the pick might want to update his will and life insurance needs.
Reminds me of when Hamas loses their top executives.
