Social Security fundamentally changed America, whether that was a good or bad thing will always be argued.
Jefferson's buying of the Louisiana Purchase seems a no Brainer now but Thomas was quite conflicted if the Constitution gave him the power to do this. Another huge and fundamental change to the executive branch.
Thomas Sowell: There are no solutions, just trade-offs.
I agree that Social Security launched an era of individual welfare programming at the federal level, but that's a bad thing, all the way around. The rise of the national debt is tied directly to the "War on Poverty" and other such individual welfare programs, they may yet destroy this republic.
How can someone end up in the top ten after initiating such a damaging era is beyond me. While there are some out there that say he "saved democracy" in an era when communist/fascist/socialist theories of government started gaining traction around the globe, he is, without argument, the closest thing to an authoritarian dictator that has ever existed in this republic. His "New Deal" legislation, his threats to pack the Supreme Court unless it stopped overturning that legislation on constitutional grounds, his actual packing of SCOTUS, ultimately having 8 nominations, plus the elevation of a Chief Justice, to the court; FDR has done more to damage this republic than any other single individual.
Time had no choice. The guy dodged a bullet and way too many made up charges and then curb stops the Democrat DEI hire. I'm not sure how he could do it, but if he ends the two wars that started because of Biden's weakness, he better damn well get the Nobel Peace Prize. Using the low bar of Obama's prize, Trump should have already gotten one after brokering the Abraham Accords.
Would you like a good laugh?
The moment the pens went to paper to sign the Abraham Accords, normalizing relations between two Sunni-led Gulf Arab nations and the Jewish State while the Palestinians seethed off stage, Joe Biden must have pumped his fist in triumph.
If he wins in November, there would be a future Nobel Prize, oven-ready for President Biden.
“Thanks Donald!”
One can but dream. The alternative may prove to be a nightmare.
If Donald Trump wins the November US presidential election then the future of the Palestinians will be, at best, frozen in the recent past. Israeli plans to annex around 30% of the West Bank, declare sovereignty over its existing Jewish settlements in the Palestinian territories, will likely stay on hold.

It really is remarkable how CNN and the other leftist rags can still be making money after being wrong most of the time.
