companies provide their data to the Chinese government and intelligence agencies, the Protecting Americans From Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act (PAFACA) required ByteDance to sell TikTok and its other apps to an entity not based in China by Sunday.

That sale did not happen.
As a result, TikTok began blocking US-based users on Saturday, January 18, ahead of the midnight deadline. Because PAFACA bans all apps operated by ByteDance, not just TikTok, users of its myriad other apps are meeting the same restrictions.

OK, WHY R WE LETTING THIS SLIDE FOR 90 DAYS? is it not STILL a security risk? I don't understand, please explain....r we THAT obscenely adicted that SECURITY is a after thought?

If you’re worried about security risks, you should stay off the internet completely and smash your phone. Nothing is secure.

OIH, I am quite aware of the "eye in the sky"......one OF THE REASON i DO NOT CARRY A CELL/I PHONE,
i ALSO DO NOT USE PORTALS,NOR HAVE APPS. nothing IS SECURE,BUT U CAN MAKE IT HARDER
TO TRACK U......it seems logical to me, that IF the ban were in place, that would EXPEDITE the decision to find a buyer...ASAP, but no, they have a 90 day reprieve.....NO HURRY, maybe it will just not become an issue with the new POTUS. jmo

There's an offer on the table to satisfy the requirements of the law, and the law allows an extension of the deadline for 90 days to complete a sale. If the law isn't satisfied, or repealed, within that 90 day period TikTok, and the portfolio of ByteDance apps, will again go dark in this republic.

Engraved upon the entrance to the Supreme Court building is the phrase, "Equal Justice Under Law". The law is being followed . . . what a refreshing change.

I see a huge money making opportunity for whoever buys it. Lots of people have avoided the site because of the Chinese element. With all the recent coverage of the site, I think there's nothing but upside for potential buyers.

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

NSA, Meta, Amazon, and even our home appliances spy on us. Why stop at Tik Tok?
