Will RFK Jr Be Nominated?

I think Trump might lose this battle. Big Pharma owns way too many senators, both Republican and Democrat.

I think he will squeak through the confirmation vote. If they don't confirm Kennedy, Trump will simply wait for the Senate to recess and then make a recess appointment that will install Kennedy in the post for the remainder of the current 2 year session. I think the first recess scheduled for the Senate this year is March 17th and with Republicans in charge of the chamber there isn't a real threat of the Senate employing pro forma sessions that would prevent a recess appointment.

Good analysis. There are some things I like about RFK Jr but a lot I don't. I think vaccines have saved literally billions of lives or made at least made their lives better.
And same with Big Pharma. I probably wouldn't be alive without their drugs.

But I also think some of the drugs and food additives approved might need to be reexamined.

I'd agree with that . . . but there's also something to be said for the number of required/recommended vaccines, especially for infants and young children, and the impact upon their health that all of the immune system stimulation might have at such a young age.

It's a discussion worth having and RFK Jr is the one who will make sure the discussion is held. Safety, efficacy, and so much more needs to be examined. Take the flu shot for example. Is it worth the effort given the efficacy of the shot in any given year? Certainly for certain age groups and high risk categories, but should the majority of the population bother inoculating themselves for a 30% efficacy rate whose sole benefit is a reduction of symptoms if they get infected and should the federal government be pouring billions of dollars into the creation and execution of programs designed to maximize the number of people who receive the inoculation every year? A fair question to ask given the state of federal finances and how minimizing the natural immunity response to the flu virus in the majority of the population might actually result in a situation where the people are more susceptible to infection and epidemic as a result of not having a robust natural immunity to infection.

I've never had a flu shot, caught the flu a couple times as a child, maybe once or twice as an adult. Speaking only for myself, I don't see the benefit of spending $100 every year (even if the shots are "free to me" through insurance) to get a flu shot. I haven't taken the shingles shot either, even though I had chicken pox as a child. I regularly keep my tetanus up to date, never received a "booster" for polio, rubella, mumps, entirely eschewed the SARS-CoV-2 madness, and in the last 10 years I've missed one, maybe two, days due to feeling ill. Mind you, I didn't stay away because I was so sick I couldn't work, I stayed home to help keep others well.

And yeah, maybe I'm just lucky. Or maybe its because there weren't 50 vaccines given to me as a child and in the summer I played in an irrigation ditch full of crawdads, snakes, insects, bacteria and who knows what else and I have a strong, robust, natural immune system as a result of not having been subjected to an overzealous attempt to prevent any illness at all. My mom actually took us to play with our cousins when they contracted the chicken pox so we would get infected too and she would be able to take care of all of us at once. One and done so to speak . . . lol

The influenza shot is starting to make less and less sense. By the time they create the cocktail of influenza strains to prepare your system for this Winter, it has already mutated and arrived months ago.

I religiously did it every year and didn't get the flu. My friends refused and they didn't get the flu either.

We did get the shingles shot and it hit us like a brick. My friends wife didn't. They treated her and she was cured quickly after she got it.

RFK Jr confirmed today as HHS Secretary. Wasn't an easy path, but, as anticipated, he was confirmed by the Senate.

Quite intrigued to see what he does in office. These next four years are going to be a wild ride.

Once again, Trump has given the left so many targets to fire at that they can’t stay focused on one, so they end up missing them all. Hilarious.

Funny thing? JFK Jr is 90% leftist. If he was running against a Republican in the US Senate, Rolling Stone would endorse him.
