These DOGE warriors are acting like crusaders. Very passionate and effective. They are making mistakes, breaking eggs, but they seem to uncover massive cheating everywhere they look.

Of course they are, the very nature of a central government ensures it will always be there to some extent. The goal is to minimize the amount of it there is rather than ignore its existence. $4.7 trillion was spent in the last fiscal year without the costing center code attached to the spending. This is Accounting 101 stuff, the cost code is attached to the outlay so that the money spent is tied to a specific program within the budget of a specific department. Without that cost code, you can't track the spending back to a specific appropriation made by Congress, and roughly 60% of all federal spending occurred absent that code.

Under such loose accounting standards, which would likely result in charges of fraud or embezzlement outside of DC, if course you are going to find cheating when a close examination of the books takes place.

You'll never eliminate waste, fraud and abuse entirely, anymore than you can wholly eliminate racism. The goal is to minimize, rather than ignore, the existence of either in our government and our society.

Yes, another perfect example of the government getting away with crimes ten times worse than private businesses yet receiving no punishment.

Love Rand Paul this week. Usually he attacks Republicans for not doing enough, but this week he applauded Trump and Musk for doing so much so quickly. He is genuinely impressed.

"You are going to be so popular."
Kash wins 51-49.

Surprised more Democrats aren't choosing to retire right now. Don't want DOGE auditing your offices.

QUICK DOES NOT EQUATE TO EXACT OR PRECISE OR QUALITY.....that being said, I fervently wish they would articulate their plans in writing ...so that quality can be measured and EVERYONE WOULD BE ON THE SAME PAGE ( DEPARTMENTS THAT R BEING IMPACTED AND CUT BACK).....is that asking too much?..... the idea is an excellent one, the execution of the plan sucks big time. jmo

When you are stripping government down to studs, mistakes will be made. Yet it looks like the DOGE responds quickly.

Unlike Biden's plan to increase EV Chargers. Only a handful built after four years.
Democrats plan for High Speed Rail in California? Less than one hundred miles built in 30 years.
Rural internet? Nothing delivered. Rural people are using Musk's Starlink instead.
