Meh, given the billions of records that were accessed in data breaches at financial institutions, insurance companies, social media, and even by government workers employed by the IRS, it's a given your information is already in the hands of those who shouldn't have it HA. It would be an anomaly if your information wasn't floating around out there somewhere given the quantity of the security breaches and the amount of data obtained in each of them.

It's why I don't use an app on my phone, tablet or computer for my email accounts (except for work), why I don't bank or pay bills online, why I refuse to give my SS# to healthcare providers or insurance companies, why I don't click on links in text messages or in my email (even for e-invites from my family), why I don't have even a single "smart" device in my home, why I disable every Google app that comes pre-installed on my phone, turn off every permission I am allowed to turn off on my tablet and phone, and every other thing I do to limit the amount of my data that is available when a company's IT security is breached. And even at that I get at least one notification every year that I'm being given a year's worth of identity protection free of charge because someone managed to hack their way into someone's data. One of the people that worked in HR at a previous place of employment decided to violate every rule in the book, copied the personnel files of every employee onto USB drives, and then released them all when they became dissatisfied at their job.

My intellect, my grasp of reality as it exists, and my ability to think rationally are all fully intact, but I thank you for your concern. You see, I'm not one who buys into propaganda very easily, it's pretty difficult to get me to toss reason aside and buy into the nonsense I see distributed every day.

Doesn't matter if you have employed an at-home DNA test or not . . . all it takes is one relative of yours to submit their sample and viola . . . you're in the system too because your familial ties are known. Every address you've ever lived at, every phone number you've ever had, what cars you own, and have owned . . . it's all in a database somewhere that is available for purchase, legitimately or not.

Privacy is an illusion in our post-modern world . . . so it really doesn't matter who looks at the government records, they're not going to find anything there that a marketer can't already get their hands on.

Can you list any evidence that would lead you to believe Musk is doing this for nefarious or selfish reasons? I consume your news so I know what the "journalists" are pumping into your eyes and ears. What they are NOT doing is divulging any evidence that would backup their accusations. And think about it, when the media goes after one of their enemies, they will dig up stuff from 40 years ago. Other than having lots of children with different women, I'm not seeing a reason to be panicking about him having access to your SS number.
