You know what I get the biggest kick out of? Collectivists who seek to inform you that raising the income tax on a corporation won't raise prices, but raising the tariff on the goods they import will.
Will tariffs increase the cost? Of course they will, unless, that is, the countries whose goods and services are subject to the tariffs stop manipulating their currencies and start assisting in slowing down the trade of humans, illicit goods, and drugs across a shared border in order to end the levying of the tariff.
China has already promised to devalue their currency in order to preserve market share. And other multinationals are moving production to the United States, creating more jobs for Americans.

1.7 trillion in new foreign investments, right on our soil. More accomplished for Americans, while Democrats remain silent, unless they are whining about DOGE pointing out government fraud and waste.
A fact is information without emotion.
An opinion is information shaped by experience.
Ignorance is an opinion without knowledge.
Stupidity is an opinion that rejects facts.
Not going to disagree that tariffs are an economic form of war HA, but the question I have for you is who fired the first shot in the current war, the foreign nations who are allowing an illegal immigration crisis to persist without action on their part which includes money laundering, human trafficking, drug trafficking, gun trafficking, murder of our citizens while on foreign soil, shots fired at our LEOs on the border, kidnapping, rape, environmental damage . . . I'm sure you're beginning to get the picture here . . . or the Trump administration who is attempting to defend our sovereignty with the tariffs?
You have to start by asking the right question . . . did we start this war or are we attempting to negotiate a quick end to the one that was already in progress?

IF A QUICK END IS THE AIM,WHY IS BUFFET MOSTLY IN CASH AND HAS SOLD A LARGE AMOUNT OF STOCKS? BECAUSE HE SEES A DECIDEDLY DIFFICULT FUTURE AND IS PROACTIVE........HE HAS A INDISPUTABLE TRACK RECORD, FOR CORRECT ACTIONS.(by the way he is 'bearish' in his outlook)

Do you have an idea of how to communicate the urgency of altering the behavior of nations other than driving up the cost of goods they import which will cause them to lose sales in our domestic market HA?
If you do, I'd love to hear what other avenues of action to address the multiple harms of the current crisis in the same time frame you believe there to be. Nothing Biden did addressed the problem, in fact, his policies made the situation worse. More fentanyl deaths, more armed exchanges at the border, more children attempting to enter unaccompanied, more human trafficking, more illegal immigration, etc.
The tariffs disappear when progress to address the issues that resulted in the tariffs being levied are made. That could be a week, or a month, or a quarter, after the tariffs take effect. If you know of a means to achieve the same goals in the same timeframe without the tariffs, I'd be willing to hear what those means might be. From Buffet, from Democrats, from you . . . doesn't matter the source of the idea, what matters is the alternative must accomplish the same goals as rapidly as tariffs might accomplish those goals.
There can be a lot of ways of looking at a problem. Remember when Perot said NAFTA would suck jobs out of America?
It did, massive outsourcing.
Maybe it is time for America to say enough is enough. China, Mexico, and Canada have been taking advantage of us for decades. It might hurt a bit at first, but it will hurt these three nations much more.
An international game of Chicken.
