Ford CEO Jim Farley got under the hood of the automaker's commitment to American manufacturing Tuesday on FOX Business, telling "Mornings with Maria" host Maria Bartiromo that one sprawling Kentucky truck plant showcases President Donald Trump's vision for the U.S. auto industry.
If the public were to walk around the plant, he said, they would meet 9,000 people whose kids are going through college, people who are there for their own livelihoods, benefiting from domestic manufacturing.

"This is the example of what the president is trying to do…" he told Bartiromo, referencing the president's push to bring jobs back to U.S. soil.

So tell me again HA, why should we care that 10k less of the over 350k vehicles that Subaru is manufacturing in Indiana every year are headed to Canada? Merck is investing in domestic manufacturing of their pharmaceutical products as a result of the tariffs . . . which will increase US employment, US domestic product, US tax collections, and health security for those living in the US. Ford's CEO is seeing more domestic automobile production on the horizon, which will increase employment, GDP, tax revenue, and domestic security.

I'd still have to say . . . when the dots are connected . . . that this is proving to be a successful strategy. China is lowering or waiving tariffs on many US imports, US tariffs are being reduced and delayed as foreign governments engage in trade negotiations that are more favorable than the US enjoyed previously, so the sky-high price hikes aren't happening either, core inflation is down, consumer spending increased . . . I'm not seeing the doom and gloom you've been on and on about.
