The young Catholics I know, both Lay and in orders are more conservative than the Boomers and Generation X.

Pope Leo XIV is a member of the Republican Party, but conservative and liberal means quite different things in the Vatican than in America.

Probably mainly Republican because he is against abortion rights, unlike President Trump. The Cardinal has however attacked both Trump and Vance for not being more accommodating to illegal foreign nationals, and giving more benefits to poor Americans and those worldwide.
