DIMON DECLARES...''NOT GOING TO HAPPEN''

The head of America’s largest bank has ridiculed President Donald Trump’s negotiating tactics with China, saying the country is not likely to bow to U.S. pressure.

“I just got back from China last week. They’re not scared, folks,” Dimon told a crowd of politicians, executives, and economists at the Reagan National Economic Forum in California on Friday, Axios reports. “I would engage with China.”

Trump has been battling a trade war with the Asian giant in recent months, imposing tariffs of up to 145 percent on Chinese goods imported into the U.S. market. However, a “fast deal” was struck with the country earlier this month, which reduced China’s retaliatory tariffs from 125 percent to 10 percent while U.S. tariffs were lowered to 30 percent. The deal is scheduled to last just 90 days while the two sides attempt to work out their differences.

This notion they’re going to come bow to America, I wouldn’t count on that,” Dimon continued. “When they have a problem they put 100,000 engineers on it. They’ve been preparing for this for years.”

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has been insistent that China needs the U.S. far more than America needs China, and has no choice but to return to the negotiating table. However, Chinese President Xi Jinping has been less than enthusiastic about capitulating to America’s demands, suggesting he is happy to call Trump’s bluff.

“I HAVE POSTED THE EXACT SAME SENTIMENT IN A PRIOR POST.....TRUMP DOES NOT UNDERSTAND GLOBAL ECONOMICS AND HE WILL "PAY" FOR HIS POOR JUDGEMENT......OH BUT, I AM ALWAYS WRONG AND THERE R SOME WHO THINK MY REDUNDANCY IS B.S.....WAIT AND WATCH....THE WISE WILL TAKE THAT TO HEART,OTHERS WILL BE STUNNED OF THE SUDDEN SWITCH OF FATE..

Trusting the experts again?

When Russia invaded Ukraine a few years ago, western intelligence experts predicted Kiev would fall in three days. These analysts had devoted decades of their lives studying both Russia and the Soviet Union. They failed in their analysis. Russia was revealed to be a paper tiger. The tires on their vehicles were rotting. They generals had sold their spare parts. None of the units were up to actual strength.

China has a lot of issues, crashing birth rates. An economy dependent on exports, not enough internal consumption. They might wind up swimming in crappy goods that American consumers refuse to pay double for. Already they have cities of empty residences.

How is actively engaging in economic negotiations with China not "engaging" China? Is Dimon's view of "engaging" with China one of we'll put up with whatever economic measures China decides to implement?

Dimon: they have got engineers!

Almost sounds like something Trump would say.

I DOUBT THAT DIMON BELIEVES IN BEING SUBSERVIENT TO CHINA....I TAKE HIS STATEMENT AS A REBUTTAL TO TRUMP'S BELIEF THAT "WE" HAVE ALL THE CARDS AND CAN RUN THE TABLE.

Meanwhile Chinese agents were caught smuggling dangerous fungi into the American agriculture system. Watch a Democrat judge will demand they be released.

We do have all the cards, because we have the consumers of the goods. The American consumer has pretty much established that they don't care anymore whether what they are buying is made with union labor by their fellow citizens, or slave labor in a foreign country and imported for their consumption. What they care about is how much it costs them to buy it. They'll actually spend more money buying cheap goods that have to be replaced every year than they would to buy a well made item that will last them 10 years.

The problem gets to be that a country which is incapable of supplying their own markets with goods becomes a slave to the demands of the country which supplies their markets. That's why Trump is making deals for what we are currently getting from China with other countries, a shift in purchasing that opens their markets further to these United States in exchange for a lowering of the tariffs they place on our goods, which opens our markets further in their country. China can play or suffer a reduction in production associated with the loss of US consumers . . . so we do hold the cards, it's simply how much do we want to add to the pot we're already going to take when the cards are laid on the table that has to be decided.

China and the US are both going to hold official state visits for the leader of the other country . . . just announced today, which is further evidence to show that, despite Dimon's declaration to the contrary, the Trump administration is engaging China in a productive way. The official state visits are a chance to talk face to face behind closed doors rather than through intermediaries, which means less public political grandstanding by either side, and faster progress on reaching an agreement.

That, of course, means that the TDS media you prefer to consume is largely off target yet again.

REALLY????

www.reuters.com/en/chinas-xi-trump-hold-...-reports-2025-06-05/

During the more than one-hour-long call, Xi told Trump to back down from trade measures that roiled the global economy and warned him against threatening steps on Taiwan, according to a Chinese government summary.

But Trump said on social media that the talks focused primarily on trade led to "a very po sitive conclusion," announcing further lower-level U.S.-China discussions, and that "there should no longer be any questions respecting the complexity of Rare Earth products."
He later told reporters: "We're in very good shape with China and the trade deal."

AND WHO DO U BELIEVE......TRUMP WHO LIES WITHOUT STOP OR CHINESE PROTOCOL THAT ALWAYS PUTS RESPECT AND PATIENCE AT A PREMIUM.....GOD, THIS JUST GET SO OLD AND IT IS NOT A SURPRISE EVERYONE WHO HAS A DIFFERENT VIEW, HAS BEEN LONG GONE...REUTERS SOURCES SHOW THE TRUE PICTURE.............'' was not clear from either countries' statements that the issue had been resolved.''...OF COURSE IT IS NOT RESOLVED AND IT WON'T BE,BECAUSE THE CZAR HIT 'EM HARD AND FLATTEN THEM'' IS NOT HOW TO WIN A DEAL WITH CHINA. AGAIN WAIT AND WATCH HOW THIS EXPLODES IN HIS FACE....

Buying only one purse instead of ten might make an American woman sad but it might break China and deny Xi another term.

We will go without and unemployed Chinese might actually riot and win in Tiannemen Square this time.
