No, and Yes. I don't know of anyone looking to spend time, let alone money, in Downtown Denver unless its to watch a game in one of the stadiums, and even then they are leaving at the conclusion of the game. Don't know of a single person looking to go "downtown" for shopping, or a restaurant, or even a romantic weekend these days. They are all shopping online, having their meals delivered by DoorDash or some other outfit and heading out of the city whenever they are able.
Wherever you have a challenging economic environment, you are also going to have increased crime in the area because the opportunities to make a living in that environment are decreased.
Not everyone hates downtown Denver. Stupid young males are still willing to go down there to party. Unfortunately they aren't the customers most businesses want.
Same thing is happening to Vegas.
