During his speech, Trump seemed to draw a sharp distinction between himself and Republican predecessors such as George W. Bush, saying, “In recent years, far too many American Presidents have been afflicted with the notion that it’s our job to look into the souls of foreign leaders and use U.S. policy to dispense justice for their sins.” It is this kind of rhetoric that has won the approval of the isolationist strain of the MAGA movement and the Republican Party, including Steve Bannon and Tucker Carlson. Trump’s action in Iran on Saturday night will inevitably alienate that faction as it earns praise from the likes of Fox News commentators such as Mark Levin and Sean Hannity, as well as Senators Ted Cruz and Lindsey Graham.

NO ONE KNOWS HOW THIS WILL ROLL OUT.....WE R NOW MIRED IN THE M.E.....AGAIN. U WOULD THINK WE MIGHT HAVE LEARNED FROM THE FIASCO BUSH PUSHED US INTO.....OH,AND THOSE TAX CUTS TRUMP TRIED TO DRUM UP....POWELL WILL NOW PONDER
THE WISDOM OF THAT MOVE....WAIT AND WATCH.....WE HAVE JUST ENTERED THE MOUTH OF THE DRAGON.... MUCH MORE DAMAGE
TO COME. JMO......(I KNEW THE MOMENT THEY REPORTED THE LIFT OFF OF THE MEGA MACHINE,WE MOVED TO WAR STATUS.)

TIMING....IT'S A FUNNY THING, EXPECT POSITIVE RESULTS,INSTEAD U FIND THE WINDOW WAS WRONG....THE WINDOW TO WIN IS IN THE AUG./SEPT FALL TIME FRAME.....WAIT AND WATCH ,YOUR CELEBRATION IS WOEFULLY TIMED......."afflicted with the notion that it is our job to look into souls of foreign leaders and use US policy to dispense justice for their sins."......IF U DO NOT SEE THE TRUE TRUMP NOW. WE R HOPELESS LOST AS A NATION......and with that I will go back to my "summer fun" and stay the hell off of this board ....waiting and watching from a distance....because there will be drama, dumb moves, denial and more economic destruction.

No specifics, HA? Making predictions of doom without spelling out the details is your MO, but I just thought it would be worth asking for some clarification.

You say the timing was wrong. When would have been a better time? You know as well as I do that the Democrats you vote for would never have attempted to destroy the last of Iran’s leverage. Under Obama and Biden’s presidency’s, Iran was allowed to get stronger, with toothless nuclear deals that Iran violated over and over.

Iran having a nuke would have been worse than Hitler having one because there isn’t the same fear of mutual destruction. The people of Iran and the rest of the ME now have a brighter future, thanks to the bold action of Israel and Trump.

Tell me what your better scenario looks like.

The surgical strike done on Iran seems to be a well thought out shot across the bow.

The administration told Iran what they were going to do and Iran had time to remove the Uranium and Russian nuclear technicians from the three sites so we didn't start a war with Moscow or release radiation across Iran and the region.

Iran has threatened to shut off the Gulf of Hormuz which would stop 20% of global oil shipments, but wouldn't that hurt Iran themselves?

Maybe they only let out their own tankers? That would pretty much defeat the goal of closing the passage.

Good luck with that strategy. We could make sure Iran can't make any money from oil by destroying all their infrastructure. They can't defend themselves so it's hard to imagine they have any leverage left at all.

Just read that Iran has threatened to close the Strait numerous times over the past decades and never follows through. It will hurt them more than us. Especially during Summer.
