Is he just picking on a much smaller economy? Where the average Canadian only earns as much as the average person from Mississippi?

Tell me, Fred, why should US citizens help to subsidize Canadians who are governed by fools? Their "free" healthcare isn't a product of their great ability to generate economic growth and raise the standard of living, obviously. You either believe in fair trade or you don't... I do. If a country with that many resources can't be prosperous without the US getting screwed, why should we continue to bend over?

Because America can continue to profit from buying cheap Canadian goods despite the tariffs they use to protect their economy?
Canada is like a senior citizen on the walkway ahead of you. You don't have to kick their walker away so you can get ahead of them.
They need help to compete against us and their tariffs on American goods just raise prices in an already expensive economy.

It’s a poorly run country. Fred. Your analogy is flawed. If Canada had smart leaders it wouldn’t be dependent on America.

Stop helping them up? Only then can they shrug off their unrealistic economic model and grow strong? Instead of limping along.
