Thanks to our party rule in Colorado, XCEL has been forced to shut down fossil fuel power plants before their normal retirement dates and replace them with renewables that are both more expensive and unreliable.
So while drivers are seeing some of the lowest inflation adjusted gasoline prices in American history, seniors and others on a fixed income are going to be paying record high prices for wind and solar energy.
Environmentalists are going to be killing Colorado seniors this winter. Watch for the stories about seniors who go into bankruptcy, or are killed by carbon monoxide as they use space heaters to warm only one room.
