Xcel and The Wind . . . Musings of a Curious Mind

CORE didn't answer the basic question . . . did Xcel implement their PSPS protocols to prevent wildfires or did they execute that protocol because they weren't able to satisfy the demand for power under the high wind conditions because they lack the reserve capacity necessary if they lose access to the 40+% of power generation that comes from "renewable" sources?

I think its a fair question to ask under the circumstances. Not that I expect a truthful answer mind you, but it's still a fair question.

It’s a great question. How many people would die if our power came from over 50% wind and solar?

“Sorry kids, grandma died because it was too cloudy and windy this week”

The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

WHAT HYPERBOLE ......THERE R A MYRIAD OF METHODS TO HEAT,I HAVE POSTED THEM, A COMBINATION OF SEVERAL SOURCES IS ALSO WISE...WTH MODERN MAN MIGHT NOT SURVIVE IF THERE IS A CATASTROPHIC EVENT....TOO WEAK MINDED TO ACTUALLY BE INVENTIVE.....DO U KNOW HOW MUCH HEAT A CANDLE IN A CAN WILL GENERATE HEAT,....ENOUGH TO MAKE A SMALL ENCLOSURE COMFORTABLE...NOT HOT,BUT U WILL NOT FREEZE....A STOCKPILE OF CANDLES TO LIGHT THE DARK AND SOME HEAT....

More elderly poor die in Europe because they don't have access to air conditioning than are killed by guns in America. Check it for yourself. Air conditioning is very helpful protecting weak and elderly hearts. Big part of Americans living longer in the past fifty years is the vast increase in Air conditioning.

Democrats and climate activists think those seniors should die in order to save the planet.

And folks in rural America utilize a great many of them. However, in a dense city like Denver and its surrounding suburbs, many of those heat sources have been outlawed by the Church of Climate Change congregants because they emit too much carbon, or too much Nitrous Oxide, or too many particulates.

Current CDPHE restrictions, which cover any new or remodeled fireplaces, specifically note that any, ANY wood burning device must meet EPA Phase III certification AND be located above 7,000 ft elevation. Which means one may not legally install a wood burning insert in their fireplace, or a wood burning stove in their dwelling, in the 7 county Denver Metro area. What's your solution for the majority of Colorado's population given this reality HA?

Hells bells, all of Colorado, on January 1st, is going to have the strictest Nitrous Oxide standard in the entire Union, making it impossible to purchase and install, with a permit that is, any heating device that exceeds that emission standard, including wood burning fireplaces, pellet stoves, 80% efficient gas furnaces, coal furnaces, and I'm sure the candle in the can you are advocating for as well. Sure, you might not freeze using the candles, but if anyone complains you can bet your last fiat dime that you'll get fined for exceeding the emission limits.
