I'm not so sure it's a matter of diversity as much as it is one of cultural assimilation. When a Somali, or a Cuban, or a Russian, community chooses to remain separate and apart from the culture in which they live, yes, they are going to feel isolated, fearful of strangers, etc. One can keep their cultural holidays, foods, traditions, and still assimilate into the larger community that they now call home.
America was once referred to as the great melting pot, where the diversity of the people were forged into a strong alloy. I, myself, prefer to think of this Union as a stew, where each group adds a unique flavor to a unique dish. But when the plate is divided into sections so that none of the foods touch each other then what what Grover Cleveland once referred to as the strength of the kindly brotherhood that links all citizens together is damaged.
Islam is not compatible with western civilization and diversity is definitely not something Muslims are concerned about. We are watching the disappearance of culture in European countries…. Hopefully, we are not that stupid.
The left is angry because they are now being judged by the content of their character and not by the color of their skin.

It is one thing to invite in fellow westerners like Latin Americans, East Europeans, and Christian Asians. It is quite something else to invite in jihadists who want to destroy the West.
